I am working my way through the 23 things excercises which introduce skills for Web2. It has been adapted to suit our particular environment, an academic library. So far it's very interesting though there's a lot to read.
I am just looking at all the other RMIT lungee's blogs, and wanted to say that I love your choice of layout and your beautiful cat picture. Your sonnet is a wonderful way to introduce yourself, very moving and powerful. Enjoy your blogging, Cheers, Fawnia.
Hi Susan, I've just stumbled across your blog and realised that you have the same design layout as me. And the Shakespearean sonnet is very beautiful, and I also like your favourite books and movies...am going to place a hold on 'Before the devil knows you're dead' right now!
My favorite Shakespeare sonnet is
Sonnet 29
"When in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes"
When in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes,
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf Heaven with my bootless cries,
And look upon myself, and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featur'd like him, like him with friends possess'd,
Desiring this man's art, and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least:
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee,--and then my state
(Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth) sings hymns at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet love remember'd such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings'.
